Multilingual documents

The preparation of multilingual documents require you to think through certain important questions beforehand which would make it possible to limit the number of words to be translated and make multilingual editing easier:

Is it necessary to translate everything?
Use illustrations, pictograms, pie charts which can be directly understood by everyone.
What units to keep? What about the names of products? 
What about specific references to language and the clichés?
